5 Fashion Tips For Hat Lovers

Hats have almost always been in style in one way or another throughout history. Although they were originally used strictly to protect the wearer against inclement weather or injury, they quickly evolved into fashion statements for both men and women. Today, wholesale caps are available in every style imaginable so that you can choose the right hat for you.

Baseball Caps Are Universally Flattering

One of the most popular styles of wholesale caps is the baseball cap, which flatters just about every type of face and protects the eyes from the sun when worn outside. Wholesale caps are less expensive than those found in most retail stores, giving you the option to order several styles and colors to go with a variety of outfits. Most people wear baseball caps with casual clothing such as shorts or jeans and tee shirts.

If you want to wear a baseball style wholesale hat, keep your other accessories simple.

Women with long hair often choose a cap that has an adjustable back with a small space where a ponytail can be pulled through.

Fedoras Bring Back 50s Style

One of the most popular wholesale hats today is actually one that was first introduced in the 1920's and grew in popularity until the 1960's - the fedora. Fedoras are structured hats with narrow, all around brims. They were traditionally worn by men with their suits as part of the business "uniform" of the 1950's.

Today, fedoras are often worn as a stylish accent to dressy casual clothing such as corduroys and sweaters or slacks and a blazer. Women have recently started wearing fedoras with menswear inspired outfits for an edgy, coordinated look. The women's wholesale caps are generally made with softer materials and in feminine colors such as pink.

Ivy Caps For Casual Comfort

Ivy caps are rounded caps with a small brim. Wholesale caps in this style are perfect if you want a hat that doesn't obscure much of your face and won't mess up your hair. Because they sit on the top of your head, they are generally easy to wear, but they may not keep the sun out of your eyes like some other wholesale hats available, such as baseball caps. Ivy wholesale caps are very versatile, and can be worn with almost any style of clothing except your dressiest suits. They are often seen on golfers, but are increasingly popular for other activities.

Cabbie Hats Are Great Cover Ups

Cabbie hats are slouchy hats with a small, low brim. Wholesale hat suppliers now carry this popular style, which is very similar to a newsboy cap, in a wide range of colors and materials. The proper way to wear a cabbie style wholesale hat is pulled down low over the brow, with the soft, unstructured part of the hat slouched over the back of the head. These wholesale hats are a great way to add a stylish touch to an outfit when you don't have a lot of time to do your hair. Women having a bad hair day can tuck their hair up under the cap and be ready for anything.

The most popular cabbie wholesale caps are made of wool, although they can also be ordered in a chunky knit version. Women's cabbie hats often have a decorative buckle or bow to one side of the brim along the hat band for a feminine touch.

Fashion Tips For All Wholesale Hat Styles

Although there are dozens of styles of wholesale caps, there are a few tips that will work for you regardless of the style of hat you choose. If you're wearing a hat, keep earrings and other accessories relatively simple so they don't compete with your cap.

Choose a hairstyle that works well with the hat and that can easily be fluffed up or smoothed into place when you take your wholesale hat off. Be sure to find the right size hat. It should fit snugly around your head without being uncomfortable. If it slips down over your eyes, it's too big. And buy wholesale caps whenever you can so that your money will go farther and you can order a wholesale hat for every one of your fashion looks.

Top 5 Prom Beauty Tips

It's that time of year! Young ladies across the country are shopping for prom dresses and planning for a night of glamor. You can use these five tips to look red-carpet beautiful for your prom. If you want to have some fun, get together with your girl friends and practice these prom beauty tips before the big day. That way you'll know what works for you and you'll have some practice in getting your look just right

Tip # 1
Remember that the most beautiful celebrity on the red carpet and the most beautiful girl at the prom is not the one wearing the most makeup! You don't want people to say, "Wow, great makeup." You want them to say "Wow, you look amazing!" Your makeup is there to bring out your natural beauty. One of the best ways to look naturally beautiful is to choose a lightweight liquid foundation or a mineral makeup that is almost a perfect match to your skin.

Apply the foundation evenly and lightly over your entire face, remembering to blend in at the hairline and the jaw line. If there is a noticeable line where your makeup ends and your neck begins, you've got the wrong foundation. It's either too dark or not the right shade. It pays to find the right foundation in order to have a beautiful base for the rest of your makeup.

Tip # 2
Take a hint from your dress. If your dress is a bold color or black, you'll want bold makeup to go with it. Your dress will overwhelm you and you'll look washed out in those prom pictures if your makeup doesn't complement the strong style of the dress. Dramatic eye makeup is great with a bold dress. Try a strong smoky or cat-eye look. You can find video instructions on how to achieve these looks at seventeen.com.

Just remember, when you play up your eyes you want to keep your lips neutral. You want to look like a glamor girl, not a clown, in those photos! Chose a matte lipstick color close to your natural lip color or slightly beige or pink.

Dresses in pastel shades call for a more subdued face. Keep the eyes neutral with some sparkly beige or brown shadow and a few coats of a lengthening mascara. Play up your lips instead with a high-shine lip gloss in a bright cherry or pink shade that complements the color of your dress.

Tip # 3
Create a glowing complexion, regardless of whether you're emphasizing the lips or eyes. If you have a medium or dark skin tone, use a bronzer that is two shades darker than your natural skin color. Brush it lightly on the forehead, bridge of the nose and the cheeks. Fair skinned girls can get the same super glow with a highlighter that is one shade darker than their natural skin tone. Use a highlighter along the tops of the cheeks, around the eyes and even around the lips. With either a bronzer or a highlighter, the key is to create a natural looking glow. Start with just a little product and add more if you need it.

Tip # 4
Get a manicure the day before the prom. Choose a medium length for your nails. You want something more glamorous than short nails, but super long nails can be difficult to deal with. Once again, you may want to consider your dress when choosing the color and style of your manicure. Of course, a French manicure is always in style.

Tip #5
Do something special with your hair. Prom is a chance to really show your style with a celebrity-inspired hairdo. Try an updo for long hair or add curls to normally straight short hair. Pick up a copy of a celebrity hairstyle magazine or visit seventeen.com for ideas. You can do your hair yourself, get together with your friends and do each other's hair, or make an appointment with your hairdresser. Just make that appointment well in advance since your hairdresser may get booked solid on prom day!

Those are my beauty tips for prom. It doesn't take a lot of makeup, a lot of time or even a lot of skill to get the look you want. Follow these tips and you'll look beautiful.
