Men's Summer Fashion Tips

As the weather warms up and the days grow longer the summer fashion trends are coming out quickly. While some men will only be switching from long-sleeved to short-sleeved shirts, fashionable men always want to look their best for every situation and every season. Here are a few easy tips to help “summarize” your wardrobe.

Wear Light fabrics The summer heat makes this an obvious fashion trend. A cotton or linen will keep you cooler and gives your look a more casual feel.

White Incorporating as much white into your summer wardrobe will also help with the heat, but more importantly white is a signature color of summer. The famous fashion rule of never wearing white after Labor Day just reinforces the fact that white clothing was made for summer.

Light colors We can’t all wear white every day of summer and some people avoid white because their complexion may be too fair or they just can’t avoid stains.

For that reason light or pastel colors can help give a summery feel. Keep in mind that too many pastels in one ensemble will take your look back to spring.

Stripes This summer trend has yet to go out of fashion and will always give you a nautical, summer look. The trick is to pick a stripe pattern alternating with white and one other color. Pick whatever color works best with you and go with horizontal stripes. Vertical stripes don’t work on everyone and can look more like a soccer jersey than a summer outfit.

Patterned shorts Striped or plaid shorts can give you the preppy look that you would find in the Hamptons at summertime.

These shorts are a great addition to your wardrobe because you can typically change up the color of your shirt or style of your shirt for more variety.

Belts and Shoes Accessories can help take your look into summer. Texture will be the key in finding a summer belt. A tweed or rope belt will give your look a nautical feel. Likewise, a pair of boat shoes can work with most summer outfits and will give you a laid-back, ready for the water look.

Suits While summer means no school for children, the same doesn’t apply for work. The good news is, you can incorporate your summer style into your work wardrobe. A khaki or light blue suit will feel much more fresh and summery than a traditional black suit. Cotton and linen can help make wearing suits more bearable in the heat. Seersucker suits are back in fashion and will lighten up your wardrobe. Choosing a summer tie knot is just as important as your suit, and generally the white, pastel or nautical stripes will match perfectly.

Men's Fashion Tips For A First Date

When it comes to choosing clothing for an event, most men find the most stressful event to be the first date. The reason for this is, being that they want to make a good first impression and realize that their attire can certainly help them to achieve this. This concept however is what creates the stress.

The best way to get around this is to first determine where the date is going to be. Perhaps if it is a dinner date the location or restaurant will be helpful in determining what should be worn. If it is an upscale restaurant then it may well dictate that shirt and tie must be worn which means the man will have to choose a suit. So which one shall it be? Well if there is only one suit choice available then that solves that problem. If the man has several to choose from then going with a plain dark suit will be playing it safe. If it is the warm months however, than a lighter color would be more appropriate.

One thing that should not happen is that the man be overdressed and the woman under dressed. If this should happen it is laying the groundwork for a disaster. The man could ask his date what she will be wearing to the occasion. It doesn't hurt to ask her opinion as to what he should wear as well. This works in most circumstances but not all.

If the decision has not been made as to where the date is going to take place then dressing semi casual may be a good idea. By having a sport coat make up part of the attire, it can always be removed if the date is dressed in a more casual fashion.

Being comfortable but dressed well is important. If the date is going to take place at the girl's home it still means that attention to dress is important. Remember the impression is being made on the date not the location of the date. A good pair of quality jeans with a nice plain shirt or pullover will usually work well in these circumstances.

If the date has arranged the location then asking what the dress code is should be the action taken. This way there is less chance of making any awkward mistakes. Often on a first date many men make the mistake of overdressing which makes the date feel very uncomfortable if she has not dressed the same. That is why finding that happy medium is important.

Just as important though is not to down dress either. Showing up for a date in track pants is really not going to be impressive. Even if it is something as simple as going for a walk the dress is important. Its not that the date is looking for prestige, but dressing well sends out the message that the man cares enough to put some time and thought into his appearance for her benefit.

Mens Fashion Tips On The Golf Course

You are probably going to the golf course for the first time and since you have never been there, you are wondering what to wear or what goes as far as fashion on the golf course is concerned. Golf has always been a sport that is regarded as cultured yet stylish and high class.

In most of the contemporary golf courses there is an adherence to stringent dress code and if you are going to attend a golfing event, you will be no exception to this general rule.
There is a uniform standard for shirts in the gold course. If you are going to put on a top, it will have to be a shirt with a collar.

The most widely accepted and popular is the polo shirt and white is the color of golfers although any particular shade is quite acceptable. For golf players, t-shits, tank tops or sweatshirts are completely unacceptable. In golf, decency and ease are the catch words although respectability and smartness are substantial.

Both long and short pants are acceptable on the golf course but denim and cutoffs are definitely off. The kinds of shorts that are worn in or to tennis games are completely unacceptable and you will not get away with sweatpants, basketball shorts or the shorts worn by athletes. If you are going to wear pants, they must have leather loops and you must have a leather belt on. You can have on shorts when it is war or hot and long pants when the weather is cold but the rules remain the same. The khaki shorts are acceptable although they should be long and not higher than the knee.

We cannot forget your feet when we talk about what to wear on the golf course. Firstly, shoes with metal spikes are out because these will cause lots of damage to the gold course. It is better to have on shoes with soft spikes or cleats built into the shoes. There are many fashionable golf shoes and while you get those, get the socks to match them. Sandals are definitely out.

You might want to consider carrying a jacket or a sweater or even a sweater vest. This however depends on the conditions of the weather and you can never go wrong on a golf umbrella. This is more so especially because in case it rains, the umbrella will be useful but if it does not rain, the umbrella can help you if the weather might be too hot. It would be wise to have sunglasses, a hat or visor and sunscreen lotion. Don't forget a towel and carry plenty of water.

Many sports apparel companies sell golf wear and you will find golf clothing at many stores. It is important to be in conformity to what is requisite otherwise you will not be allowed into the golf club. Most importantly when you buy golf wear, be sure to get what suitable for the course and still comfortable for you.
